We love that every project is different, and our pricing reflects those differences.
We start each project with a $3000 retainer to reach our more informed budgeting point. Whether it’s an existing home, or a new build, we meet for 2 hours and I get to ask my 1 million questions to get to know our client in as much depth as possible. Some clients just need some light help, or are designing one small room, while others are preparing to go on the long and beautiful journey of a very large and involved interior design project.
During this time we take measurements of the spaces in the scope, we’ll do floor plans and furniture layouts, and may even get to the point of a few selections and color palettes. We learn about our client’s individual priorities about money so we can help them stay aligned to what is truly important to them. For some folks, custom pillows and detailed trim work is close to godliness, while others want a sofa their kids and dogs can jump around on. We don’t judge! We just help our clients create the most perfect space that is just for their lifestyle.
If we are just consulting on a primary bathroom, that may be $1000, but if we are going to design from top to bottom a wildly custom bathroom experience, then you’re looking at closer to 8 or 9k for design work.
Once we get to know our clients priorities, we help with budgeting in a very detailed way, about what they feel comfortable spending in each space and down to individual items. At that point we also know how much design work will need to go in to each room, and give strong estimates about design fees per space. We never want to impose our personal priorities around spending money on our clients, but if we need to spend a moment educating a client about the value of a higher quality item we will take the time, as long as it fits into their value system.
While some clients value fine handcrafted one-of-a-kind items, others want a rug you can throw in the washing machine, and we value both of these types of clients. We love seeing the joy spread across our clients faces when they feel seen and understood, then celebrated in the design of their space. We love working with people and introducing them to ideas that will make their lives easier and more joyful.
Our firm isn’t about keeping up with the Jones’s, but learning more about how beautiful our differences are. It’s celebrating those differences that leads to true beauty.
